The Team
Our primary role is to enable and support the production, distribution, and transmission of content across SBS television, radio, and online platforms.
The Media Management team is the first point of contact for users with any system problems, and team members either fix or escalate to IT Helpdesk, MAM Support, BIT or Telstra Broadcast Services, as required. In addition, the team offers support in relation to system failures, upgrades, fixes and daily health checks.
The Media Management team also co-ordinate and supervise all management of media within Dalet Media Asset Manager Content, News and Radio systems and Broadcast Management systems, including capacity management, focusing primarily on media movement from archive to SBS broadcast and SBS On Demand.
The Role
Reporting into the Media Manager Lead, the role's responsibilities include:
Serving as the main communication point between a wide range of users and the MAM, Media Ingest and Media Asset areas, including SBS’s playout provider Telstra Broadcast Services (TBS)
Co-ordinating and supervising all media movement within MAM (Media Assets Management) Content, MAM News and Radio and IBMS (Integrated Broadcast Management System)
Monitoring, facilitating and ensuring compliance with agreed workflows (e.g. purging, archiving, restoring, BPMs, ingesting and exporting)
Ensuring metadata inputs are adhered to in Media Delivery areas and Broadcast Scheduling and resolving these promptly with the appropriate contacts
Working closely with internal/external clients to provide high quality media services, including seeking regular feedback on the service levels provided to the business
Making recommendations on the best solutions for client needs.
Liaising with the Production Services and Studio Services teams to identify and solve equipment maintenance problems and to improve working practices
About you
To be considered for this role we are looking for applicants that have:
Essential
Previous experience in a technical broadcast role
Experience in a client-focused environment, including excellent communication skills
The ability to work independently
Excellent attention to detail.
Highly developed troubleshooting skills, including the ability to recognise problems as well as take responsibility for the resolution of all issues as expediently as possible
Ability to make quick decisions in a time pressured environment with competing priorities
Experience with technical reporting and follow up
A strong technical bent with previous experience in technical broadcast and MAM systems desirable
